Performance
The MagBeads FastDNA Kit for Forensics has been extensively validated using sample types commonly encountered in forensic casework, including bloodstains, tape (to collect fingerprint), hair, nail, buccal swabs, cigarette butts, etc.
Comparable DNA band intensities and qPCR amplification results were obtained across all four extraction formats, indicating that the extraction method did not significantly affect DNA recovery or downstream PCR performance.

Compared to Kit M, the MagBeads FastDNA Kit for Forensics constantly showed either similar or lower Ct value among all sample types and targets.

The detected peaks at each STR locus were sharp and distinct for both the fingerprint-on-tape sample and cigarette butt sample (Figure 3A and 3B). For the pooled whole blood sample, more than two peaks were observed at multiple loci due to the presence of DNA originating from multiple donors (Figure 3C).
