These filter membranes are a component of the SPINeasy DNA kit for Water designed for collection and retention of microorganisms present in water samples using a vacuum filter set. These filters composed of cellulose acetate and nitrocellulose efficiently capture microbial cells from diluted water samples to achieve higher DNA yields when used in combination with the kit’s Lysing matrix E tubes and lysis buffers for a more thorough and complete lysis of microbial cells prior to nucleic acid extraction and purification.
