Polyuridylic acid is an RNA analog, a homopolymer of uridine.
Application Notes
Polyuridylic Acid Potassium Salt is used as a substrate for RNase A. It has also been used in an assay to estimate the concentration of mRNA solutions. May be used to make poly(U)-agarose, which can be used to isolate RNA binding proteins. It has also been used to inhibit the formation of some RNA-protein complexes. It is used as a single-stranded RNA model compound often in comparison with other ssRNA model oligonucleotides such as Poly(I) and Poly(C) to study processes that are dependent upon ssRNA regulation such as Toll-like receptor regulation. Poly(U) is used as an effective agonist for TLR7.
