Hidden water to be purified for DNA extraction

DNA extraction from any water samples would require initial step of filtration or precipitation to collect the microbials. Filtration method requires passage of water samples through a filter paper or membrane to trap the DNA whereas the precipitation method uses ethanol to precipitate nucleic acids in the water sample.


For this experiment, MP Biomedicals decided to put underground water to test with our SPINeasy DNA Kit for Water (Cat. No. 116532050) using filtration method and 5ml tubes.

Trial Experience:

DNA extraction results was good.


The filter membrane is effective in collecting the microbials and 5ml tubes from SPINeasy DNA Kit for Water helps to get better lysing result.
