Sydney, Australia – MP Biomedicals Australia is proud to launch SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test Cards in Australia to meet increasing demand for antigen testing following the resurgence of Covid-19 cases as the delta variant strains make new waves across all states and especially NSW and Victoria.

MP Biomedicals SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test Card detects the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (N protein). The important and current SARS-CoV-2 variants carry non-nucleocapsid protein mutations such as spike proteins and do not affect the product performance.

Intended for use by any lab or AHPRA registered healthcare professionals, the rapid antigen test card produces accurate results in as little as 15 mins. It is developed for point-of-care testing without the need for laboratory instruments or specialised lab personnel to administer the test. The test can be easily administered through nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal or nasal swab method with similar results.

• SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test must only be used by relevant practitioners, or persons under their supervision, who are trained in the correct use of the goods and the interpretation of the test results
• negative test results do not exclude infection with COVID-19 (so face masks, social distancing and good hygiene practice must be maintained)
• positive test results or symptomatic persons require immediate confirmatory testing with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
