The MagBeads FastDNA/RNA Kit for FFPE enables sequential isolation of DNA and RNA from the same formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) sample, allowing efficient use of limited sample material. The specially formulated buffers not only efficiently lyse the sample and reverse formaldehyde-induced crosslinking but also ensure differential separation of DNA and RNA to avoid cross-contamination. Following sample lysis, binding buffer and magnetic beads are added to the sample for DNA binding , while RNA remains in the supernatant. RNA is then captured by adding magnetic beads and isopropanol to the supernatant. Specialized wash buffers provided in the kit ensure high washing efficiency by eliminating proteins, salts, and other impurities through a short wash procedure.
When sequential separation is not required, the kit can also be used independently to purify either DNA or RNA from FFPE samples. It is designed for compatibility with automated platforms like the MagFlex-96 and MPure aNAP Systems. The nucleic acid isolated is of high quality, free from contaminants, and fully compatible with downstream applications such as qPCR and other molecular techniques.
