Paxilline is a fungal tremorgenic mycotoxin which possesses potent excitatory action on acetylcholine release from nerve terminals. It specifically inhibits smooth muscle high conductance Ca2+ activated K+ channels, as well as, entrances -charybotoxin binding to these channels.
