It can handle up to 19 standard 2 mL tubes simultaneously without sliding on the bench, thanks to strong suction cups that ensure stability even at high speeds. Ideal for both vortex mixing and lightweight homogenizing, it effectively processes soft tissues for sample preparation. The intuitive user interface features programmable time and RPM settings, allowing users to customize mixing parameters for optimal results.
For added convenience, the Vortenizer is equipped with a touchless sensor that activates the mixer when a hand is placed nearby, minimizing wrist fatigue associated with traditional vortexers. Its robust build makes it suitable for use under fume hoods and on sterile workbenches, while the true circular orbit ensures even vortexing across all speed settings, delivering consistent and reliable results every time.
Homogenization Performance
Feces Sample: 100 mg of adult and infant feces was homogenized for 20 minutes at 2500 RPM. DNA was subsequently purified using the SPINeasy DNA Kit for Feces (Cat. No. 116547050).
Soil Sample: 0.2 g of soil was homogenized for 20 minutes at 2500 RPM. DNA and RNA were purified using the SPINeasy DNA/RNA Kit for Soil (Cat. No. 116554050).
Cultured E. coli Sample: 1.7 mL of cultured E. coli was homogenized for 10 minutes at 2500 RPM. DNA was purified using the SPINeasy Kit for Microbiome (Cat. No. 116553050).
Analysis: Nucleic acid integrity was assessed using 1% agarose gel electrophoresis, and yield and purity were measured by spectrophotometry. Error bars represent standard errors from three replicates. Lane M in the agarose gel indicates the molecular size marker.
