Human IL6 ELISA Kit

Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a cytokine with a wide variety of biological functions. It is a potent inducer of the acute phase response and plays an essential role in the final differentiation of B-cells into Ig-secreting cells. IL-6 is involved in lymphocyte and monocyte differentiation and IL-6 induces myeloma and plasmacytoma growth as well as nerve cell differentiation. B-cells, T-cells, hepatocytes, hematopoietic progenitor cells, and cells of the CNS are all responsive to IL-6.

In this ELISA kit, an IL6-specific antibody has been pre-coated onto 96-well plates and blocked. Standards or test samples are added to the wells and subsequently, an IL6-specific biotinylated detection antibody is added and followed by washing with wash buffer. Afterward, Streptavidin-Peroxidase Complex is added and unbound conjugates are washed away with wash buffer. TMB is then used to visualize Streptavidin-Peroxidase enzymatic reaction. TMB is catalyzed by Streptavidin-Peroxidase to produce a blue color product that changes to yellow after adding an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is directly proportional to the amount of IL6 captured in the plate.

Application Notes

Human IL6 ELISA Kit (SKU: 08L100042) has been used to quantitatively measure the levels of IL6 in samples of biological samples through an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in a 96-well plate.

The detection range is 4.688-300 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 2.813 pg/mL in ELISA assays.
