Biochemical Physiological Actions Diallyl Trisulfide is found to inhibit chemically induced tumorigenesis. Posses in vitro fungicidal effects in combination with amphotericin B. It may have anti-parasite activity. Induces NQO activity (NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase). It has an inhibitory effect at high concentrations (50 µg/mL) on T cell activation, but at appropriate concentrations (3.125 - 12.5 µg/mL) it augments the activation of T lymphocytes by Con A. This may be due to its inhibitory effect on the production of nitric oxide by macrophages. May have antiplatelet activity and inhibitory activity against platelet thromboxane formation.
