SPINeasy DNA Kit for Urine is designed for easy, reliable, and rapid isolation of genomic DNA (gDNA) and cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from urine. The DNA purification protocol requires no sophisticated equipment and involves minimal handling. This kit can isolate gDNA and cfDNA from the same urine sample. After centrifugation, the pellet may be used to isolate the gDNA, while the supernatant can be used to isolate the cfDNA.
We recommend using Urine Preservation Solution (Cat# 116594000/116594350) when collecting urine samples, which allows the simultaneous stabilization of cell-free and genomic DNA as well as stabilization of cells in urine up to 30 days at ambient temperature. The Urine Preservation Solution can be added directly to urine samples after collection, without the need to separate nucleated cells and cell-free DNA by centrifugation.
Genomic DNA and cell-free DNA isolated with SPINeasy DNA Kit for Urine is immediately ready for use in downstream applications, including long fragment PCR, real time PCR, and sequencing.
