Description

Product Description

Product is the lyophilized powder of goat antiserum to rabbit IgG (whole molecule) and buffer salts.

Application Notes

This product is suitable for use as a precipitating antibody. It gives sharp precipitin lines in immunoelectrophoresis and immunodiffusion techniques. Note: IgG fractions are suitable for conjugation with enzymes, radiolabels, fluorochromes or other markers and for attachment to solid supports for use as an immunoadsorbant. F(ab')2 fragments are recommended for staining of cells or tissues which contain Fc receptors. Affinity purified antibodies are recommended to avoid non-specific binding from inherent antibodies of host animals. Immunostaining of acetone-fixed frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

Usage Statement

Research Use Only (RUO). Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.

Key Applications

Immunoassays | Immunoassays | Immunoelectrophoresis (IE) | Immundiffusion

Analysis Note The total protein is measured using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as a standard. Antibody titer is standardized by equivalence-point precipitation. Each antiserum is tested for specificity at a minimum of 80 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis.
Antibody Category Polyclonal
Antibody Type Polyclonal Antibody

Pack Size 2 mL
Personal Protective Equipment Eyeshields, Gloves, Respirator filter
Physical Appearance Lyophilized powder
Preparation Method The antiserum is prepared by hyperimmunizing goats with highly purified rabbit IgG; antiserum is delipidated and made specific by solid-phase absorption. The resulting antiserum is dialyzed into 0.02M sodium phosphate, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, with 0.05% sodium azide, adjusted to standard titer, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized.
Presentation lyophilized
Recommended Replacement For 855604
Solubility Soluble in water
Specificity It shows reactivity to rabbit IgG; cross-reactivity to other species may exist. Because the product is directed against whole IgG; some antibodies are expected to bind light chain sites common to all immunoglobulins. Antibody activity to non-immunoglobulin serum proteins is not present.
Storage and Handling Store lyophilized product at 2-8°C. Store reconstituted material no longer than 4 weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage; aliquot and freeze reconstituted product at -20°C or lower.
