Biochemical Physiological Actions	Flumequine inhibits topoisomerases, which are needed for the transcription and replication of bacterial DNA. The inhibition of the topoisomerases results in strand breakage of the bacterial chromosome, supercoiling, and resealing. Therefore, DNA replication and transcription is inhibited .
