SafTest provides a flexible, standardized approach to routine lipid quality and fat content testing. Explore the available tests, platforms, and workflow components to find the right setup for your samples.
SafTest is a compact photometric system for routine testing of lipid quality and fat content in foods, ingredients, oils, feeds, biodiesel, and related products.
SafTest methods address fat content, hydrolytic degradation, primary and secondary oxidation, and total glycerin in biodiesel—helping quality teams evaluate raw materials, production batches, finished products, and shelf-life stability.
A typical setup combines SafTest instrumentation, an endpoint-specific test kit, compatible dispensing equipment, and consumables.

First choose the platform designed for liquid or solid samples, then explore the configurations below to find the option that supports the endpoint or endpoints you need to measure.
For oils, liquid fats, biodiesel, and other appropriately prepared liquid samples.

For foods, ingredients, feeds, and other solid or semi-solid samples that require extraction and filtration before analysis.

Each package brings together the routine disposable supplies used to prepare and analyze samples with the corresponding SafTest instrumentation platform. Both packages include tubes, caps, pipette tips, printer paper, tissue wipers, and other workflow supplies.

View PackageEach test kit includes the endpoint-specific reagents, calibrators, and control needed to test approximately 100 samples. Choose from methods for lipid oxidation, hydrolytic degradation, fat content, or total glycerin based on the endpoint you need to measure.
Compatible instrumentation, consumables, and dispensing equipment are selected separately.

Measures peroxide to assess primary lipid oxidation and support stability monitoring.

Measures percent free fatty acid to assess hydrolytic degradation and fat quality.

Measures percent fat in liquid or solid samples to support composition testing.

Measures malonaldehyde content as an indicator of secondary lipid oxidation.

Measures alkenal content to assess secondary lipid oxidation products.
View Test Kit
Measures total, free, and bound glycerin in B100 biodiesel and biodiesel blends.
View Test KitEach reusable dispenser set provides the method-specific equipment needed to dispense SafTest reagents at the prescribed volumes. Matching the set to your selected endpoint simplifies setup, helps support consistent reagent addition from run to run, and avoids the need to source individual dispensing components separately. Each set includes one dispenser for every required reagent and a reagent holding rack.
Test kits, instrumentation platforms, and consumables packages are selected separately.

An instrumentation platform includes the SafTest analyzer and the equipment needed for the selected liquid or solid workflow. A consumables package does not include the analyzer and requires compatible instrumentation.
Test kits are purchased separately unless otherwise specified in a quote.
Yes. SafTest offers separate liquid and solid workflow configurations. The correct configuration depends on sample type, test endpoint, and preparation requirements.
Possibly. Compatibility depends on the existing analyzer, instrumentation, consumables platform, and endpoint being added.
Yes. New SafTest platform purchases include free onsite training.
