MagBeads FastRNA Kit for FFPE

MagBeads FastRNA Kit for FFPE is a high-performance RNA extraction kit for formaldehyde- or paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues. Utilizing advanced magnetic-bead technology, this kit enables convenient and efficient isolation of RNA from a wide variety of FFPE tissue samples. The purification protocol requires no sophisticated equipment and involves minimal handling, making it suitable for any laboratory setting. 
RNA obtained from multiple types of tissue using this kit has shown high integrity and purity and is ready for use in downstream applications, including real-time PCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS). 
The kit incorporates specialized formulations that address the unique challenges of FFPE samples. During formalin fixation, nucleic acids undergo crosslinking with proteins and chemical modifications that lead to fragmentation. The MagBeads FastRNA Kit for FFPE is optimized to reverse formaldehyde-induced crosslinking.
Due to fixation and embedding procedures, nucleic acids in FFPE samples are often heavily fragmented and modified by formaldehyde. While the MagBeads FastRNA Kit for FFPE is optimized to minimize the effects of the formaldehyde modification, RNA purified with this kit is not recommended for downstream applications that require full-length RNA.
The kit is automation-friendly and can be adapted for use on various open-platform automated systems, enabling high-throughput processing of up to 96 samples simultaneously. This flexibility makes it suitable for both manual processing in small-scale experiments and automated workflows in large-scale studies.

Performance

MagBeads FastRNA Kit for FFPE consistently delivered higher yield than all competitors’ kits across all sample types. It also demonstrated better RNA purity compared to all competitors’ kits.

The RNA obtained from this kit is compatible for real-time qPCR assays. Among the five different tissue RNA samples tested, RNA isolated using the MagBeads FastRNA Kit for FFPE produced the lowest Ct values.
