Product Description

The FastDNA-96™ Fecal/Soil Microbe DNA Kit isolates microbial or host DNA from up to 80 mg of wet or dry stool or up to 135 mg of soil. Human DNA, gram (+/-) bacteria, fungi, parasites, algae, and spores found in fecal samples and microbial DNA found in different soil types (clay, sandy, silty, peaty, chalky, and loamy soils) are efficiently lysed in approximately 60 seconds with Lysing Matrix E (not included in kit) and the FastPrep-96™ Instrument. This kit efficiently removes humic acid and other PCR inhibitors commonly found in these sample types for fast, efficient, and inhibitor-free DNA extraction. Genomic DNA obtained from this kit is suitable for PCR, qPCR, NGS and other molecular downstream applications.
