Description

Product Description

N-Bromosuccinimide cleaves peptide at Tryptophyl residues. Decarboxylates α-amino acids, peptides, and proteins in aqueous solutions.

Application Notes

N-Bromosuccinimide is a allylic bromination reagent. It oxidizes silyl ethers to aldehydes in the presence of AIBN. For the oxidation of tryptophan though tyrosine, histidine and methionine residues may be oxidized to a lesser extent. It is also used for the modification of ribosomal sulfhydryl groups.
