Digitonin has following Uses: 1. Cholesterol Determination. 2. Use of digitonin-permeabilized adipocytes for cAMP studies. 3. Solubilization of membrane proteins. 4. The water soluble form can be used for the isolation of mitotic chromosomes. Mild nonionic detergent used to solubilize receptors and permeabilize cellular and nuclear membranes.
