Ethoxyquin is an antioxidant which inhibits chemically induced carcinogenesis, where it exerts its chemopreventive action by inducing glutathione synthetase and the phase II drug metabolizing enzyme, glutathione S-transferase (GST) and an antidegradation agent for rubber.
