Specific Secondary Antibodies from Cappel® for Sensitive Detection and Purification
Secondary antibodies are designed to bind to primary antibodies to amplify signals for detection, separation and quantification of target antigen. To maximize signal, a secondary antibody must have specificity to interact with the primary antibody species and isotype. In addition, secondary antibodies are typically conjugated with a reporter molecule, which may include an enzyme like horseradish peroxidase (HRP) or a fluorophore such as fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). Multiple secondary antibodies can bind to a single primary antibody, leading to amplified signal and sensitivity.
Cappel secondary antibodies from MP Bio are available with or without enzyme/fluorescence dye conjugation from multiple immunoglobulins, including human, rabbit and mouse. Enzyme conjugated antibodies (alkaline phosphatase (AP) or HRP) are suitable for EIA, ELISA, blot immunostaining and cell/tissue staining, and fluorochrome conjugated antibodies are used in immunofluorescence assays, cell/tissue staining, blot immunostaining and fluorescence-activated cell sorting.
