Primary Function:

This roll will cross-train as production chemist on multiple product lines. This position will rotate training through various manufacturing areas including Diagnostics, Immunobiology, Molecular Biology and Quality Control.  Learn and be responsible for a wide variety of product formulation tasks. Follow and optimize production processes while following safety protocols. Produce quality research products in a timely fashion to meet customer demand.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operation of lab equipment including spectrophotometer, plate reader, centrifuges, pipettors, etc
  • Purification of antibodies from whole antisera using affinity chromatography methods.
  • Conjugation of antibody to enzymes/fluorochromes
  • Maintenance of detailed records of products in production
  • Bottling and labeling of kit components
  • Bulk manufacturing testing, documentation, and analytical procedures associated with the formulation of radioactive and non-radioactive diagnostics products
  • Safe and proper handling of radioactive materials
  • Perform QC tests (FTIR, UV, OR, Melting Point, LOD, KF titrator, pH, and biological tests) for all life science products including biochemical and molecular biology products
  • Effectively performing multiple tasks to ensure adherence to manufacturing schedules
  • Compliance with all regulatory and cGMP requirements
  • Maintaining the laboratory work area in a clean, safe and organized manner
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment with motivation and a results-oriented approach

  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology or equivalent work/school experience
  • 0-5 years of experience
  • Handling multiple projects simultaneously and remaining flexible to priorities
  • Works well in a group environment
  • Familiar with computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and GMP/GLP protocols
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
