Analysis Note The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. The product is tested for purity at a minimum of 20 mg/mL using immunoelectrophoresis. The IgG concentration is determined by radial immunodiffusion and is reported in mg/mL, and percentage of total protein.

Preparation Method Human IgG positive control is purified from pooled human serum using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.01M sodium phosphate, with 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 μm filter, vialed and lyophilized. No preservative has been added.

Solubility Reconstitution: Reconstitute product with 1.0 mL of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material.
Storage and Handling Store unopened product at 2-8°C. Store reconstituted material no longer than a few days at 2-8°C unless sodium azide is added. For long-term storage; aliquot and freeze at -20°C. The reconstituted material is stable for 12 month if stored at -20°C.
