Application Notes

Alginic Acid, Sodium Salt has been used in the flocculation of solids in water treatment; as sizing agent; thickener; emulsion stabilizer; and a suspending agent.Alginic acid sodium is used:• in combination with chitosan, to fabricate a biodegradable porous scaffold for bone tissue engineering.• to study the characteristics of a modified amphiphilic alginate derivative• to the study the impact of alginate on the rate of lipid digestion using an in vivo digestion model• in the preparation of alginate hydrogels with tunable mechanical properties• as encapsulating agents of microparticles of ß-galactosidae• to study the effect of alginate entrapped cells of Pseudomonas stutzeri on the degradation of naphthalene.
