Blood is composed of several cell types that need to be routinely isolated. As of now, density gradient centrifugation appears to be the easiest, the fastest and the most reproducible method to isolate mononuclear cells from peripheral blood.

This product consists in a sterile solution of sucrose polymer and diatrizoate salts which harbors a very specific density (1,077-1,080g/mL). Simple addition of LSM™ to the blood sample followed by a one-step centrifugation (400g / 30min), will allow perfect separation of RBCs (erythrocytes) and granulocytes from lymphocytes and other mononuclear cells (monocytes and platelets).

By opposition to LSM™, LymphoSep™ is validated for In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) usage and compatible with EDTA-treated blood samples thanks to its very specific composition of Ficoll and sodium metrizoate. It offers a quick, simple and reliable method for isolation of lymphocytes from whole blood. Similarly to LSM™, simply add in a 1:1 ratio LymphoSep™ solution to the blood sample, centrifuge 400g / 30min, and aspire the desired layer of lymphocytes.

Mono-Poly Resolving Medium™ is a solution composed of a polysaccharide (Ficoll 400) and a radiopaque contrast medium (Hypaque) in a specific ratio to yield a density of 1,114±0,002. It is particularly useful for the separation of lymphocytes, monocytes and platelets (upper layer) from polymorphonuclear leukocytes (lower layer) and RBCs (pellet) in a one-step 300g/30min centrifugation.
