Responsibilities:

Reports to: Director of Sales

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to :

  • Responsible for accounts located in North America
  • Customer Service

• Responds to customer's questions and provides information about products as it relates to their needs.

• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

• Ensure that all deliveries are timely; investigates and resolves any issues to the contrary.

• Builds and maintains customer relationship, coordinates demonstrations for customer trials and coordinates training as appropriate.

• Provide internal and external customers with product and service information.

• Liaison between customers and warehouse to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

• Follow-up on customer inquiries not immediately resolved.

  • Sales Administration & Support

• Provide Sales and Account support to the Outside Sales Team, including but not limited to the following:

• Order & Product inquiries

• Maintain and Report on Customer/Account history

• Quotes (Fine Chemical & Life Science)

• Distribution of Samples

• Distribution of Literature

• Distribution of Demos

• Validate current mailing list contacts

• Review current contacts in mailing list to confirm accurate information

• Support the Sales team through providing information, generating reports, quotes, and other documentation as needed to Sales Reps.

• Act as a backup to Sales Team by providing support to both internal and external customers.

• Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.

• Tracks stock levels and prepare reports of business transactions as needed.

• Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.

• Works with internal Product Managers to ensure accurate and sufficient quotations are provided.

• Process orders; intercompany, international, and domestic.

• Handle credits, debits, and shipment tracking.

• Set up new accounts.

  • Direct Inside Sales

• Perform lead follow up and verification

• Contact potential and existing customers by telephone and email to qualify leads and sell products and services.

• Qualify all leads from events to allow Outside Sales Reps availability to focus on hot leads and maximize sales impact.

• Make outgoing customer calls in new customer areas

• Collect details on business prospects prior to an on-site visit by the Outside Sales Rep.

• Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.

• Provides product demos, samples, and literature to qualified customers.

• Emphasizes selling points, quotes, prices, and credit terms.

• Prepares sales orders for orders obtained.

• Sell product and place customer orders in the computer system.

• Provide price quotations, product information, and product availability to internal and external customers.

  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Must Have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related science
  • Two to Five Years Inside Sales Experience preferred
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, AS400, Lotus Notes
